Desktop Administrator

About the role

Boart Longyear is seeking a proactive IT Desktop Administrator to ensure reliable hardware, software and system access for users across multiple sites, including field employees. The role involves configuring, deploying and troubleshooting desktop environments while supporting both on‑site and remote users.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and support specialised drilling software for end users.
• Deliver IT support across several locations and field sites, with occasional travel.
• Manage incidents and service requests in line with SLAs using a ticketing system.
• Support Microsoft Windows environments and M365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Support mobile devices on iOS and Android platforms.
• Configure, test, deploy and upgrade desktop and laptop systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Collaborate with regional and global IT teams and document configurations and processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of desktop support experience in Microsoft environments.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services and Windows OS.
• Experience with PC imaging, asset management and mobile device connectivity.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills with a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
