Regional Wellbeing Consultant – Metropolitan North

About the role

The Queensland Department of Education is seeking a Regional Wellbeing Consultant for Metropolitan North. In this position you will lead staff wellbeing initiatives, support school leaders in managing occupational violence and psychosocial hazards, and deliver evidence‑informed strategies to create safer, healthier workplaces across Queensland schools.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional staff wellbeing initiatives and provide expert advice to schools.
• Assist school leaders with managing complex health, safety and wellbeing risks, focusing on occupational violence and aggression (OVA).
• Provide high‑level expertise in trauma‑informed and risk‑based practices, including psychosocial hazard management.
• Coordinate and promote health and wellbeing programmes across the region.
• Deliver presentations, workshops and training, such as Psychological First Aid.
• Collaborate with schools, regional staff and external stakeholders for effective wellbeing planning.
• Conduct staff wellbeing needs analysis, support action planning sessions, and represent the department at relevant forums.

Required profile

• Proactive, collaborative approach with strong professional judgement.
• Deep knowledge of workplace wellbeing, psychosocial risk management and trauma‑informed practice.
• Experience managing complex wellbeing and safety matters in large or diverse organisations.
• Ability to work with school leaders and regional teams to embed sustainable wellbeing practices.
