Purchasing Officer – Townsville

About the role

As a Purchasing Officer based at Wilmar Sugar Australia’s Townsville head office, you will support the company’s large‑scale sugar and renewable operations by ensuring timely, accurate and commercially‑focused procurement. The role offers exposure to high‑volume supply chain activities across manufacturing sites and the chance to develop advanced contract management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and orders efficiently to maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Source goods and services that deliver strong commercial value while meeting operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Accounts Payable to resolve purchasing queries, discrepancies and invoice issues.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and maintain accurate procurement administration.

Required profile

• Experience in a purchasing, procurement or similar operational support role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail and confidence working across systems and processes.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
