Purchasing Advisor (2-year Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Purchasing Advisor to support medium to high-value bid and contract activities within our maintenance portfolio. This 2-year fixed-term position offers the chance to deepen your experience in the construction sector while working on a variety of projects ranging from minor works to major design-and-construct contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify shopping carts to ensure accuracy and clear specification of goods and services.
• Solicit bids, evaluate responses and prepare recommendation reports for approval.
• Purchase goods and services in line with established standards, applying value-for-money principles.
• Provide procurement support to groups, branches and regions, meeting agreed service levels.
• Plan, develop and establish contracts and agreements for maintenance services, equipment, consulting and preferred-supplier panels.

Required profile

• Recent purchasing experience in a multi-discipline engineering or construction environment.
• Knowledge of SAP and/or SRM procurement systems.
• Understanding of contemporary procurement theory, electronic trading applications and processes.
• Strong stakeholder-relationship building and influencing abilities.
• Proficient computing skills with the Microsoft suite and ability to learn corporate business applications.
