Manufacturing Planning & Supply Chain Manager

About the role

Emesent is seeking an experienced manufacturing planning leader to own the end‑to‑end planning and supply‑chain function within its Manufacturing & Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will translate commercial demand into executable production plans, ensure material availability across five product lines, and provide transparent operational communication throughout the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, consolidating demand, reconciling capacity, and producing a consensus plan with documented assumptions and risks.
• Build and maintain rolling production schedules for all product lines, converting confirmed orders and pipeline forecasts into weekly and monthly build plans.
• Own capacity planning, model throughput, identify constraints, and present trade‑off options such as overtime, shift changes, outsourcing, or order resequencing.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and lead times, and oversee procurement execution from purchase order generation to goods receipt.
• Drive supply‑chain risk management, maintain visibility of single‑source exposure, and develop dual‑BOM and alternate‑source strategies for high‑risk parts.
• Maintain Fishbowl ERP data integrity for inventory, reorder points, safety stock, BOM accuracy, and part master data.
• Conduct regular inventory audits, keep count variances below 2%, and manage slow‑moving or excess stock across 1,400+ active parts.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a planning or supply‑chain function in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to model capacity, assess risks, and propose data‑driven solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to convey plans and risks to cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to build and develop a small team.

Required skills

• Fishbowl ERP (or comparable ERP system) for inventory and planning data management.
• Experience with S&OP processes and capacity planning methodologies.
• Supplier negotiation and procurement execution expertise.
