About the role

The Manager, Destination 2045 Governance will lead governance activities for Queensland’s 20‑year tourism strategy, Destination 2045. This senior position ensures effective stakeholder collaboration, high‑quality reporting, and the smooth operation of key committees.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage partnerships with internal and external stakeholders critical to the success of Destination 2045.
• Establish, maintain, and monitor governance protocols and processes to track strategy progress.
• Manage governance committees, including a Cabinet sub‑committee, and prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for executive stakeholders.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment and effective delivery of strategic initiatives.
• Lead a high‑performing, inclusive team, fostering collaboration while meeting budget, quality, and timeline expectations.

Required profile

• Proven track record of leading and delivering significant projects, preferably in a government or public‑sector environment.
• Deep expertise in governance design and maintenance for major strategies or programs.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management abilities, with strong written skills for complex, sensitive material.
• Experience leading agile, inclusive teams and promoting a safe workplace culture.
• Knowledge of Queensland’s tourism industry or the ability to acquire it quickly.
