Lawyer / Associate – General Insurance (Adelaide)

About the role

Hall & Wilcox is seeking a Lawyer or Associate with 1‑5 years of post‑admission experience to join its General Insurance team in Adelaide. The role focuses on defending compulsory third‑party (CTP) claims for insurers, as well as workers’ compensation, public liability and related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing documents and preparing chronologies.
• Drafting correspondence to courts and third parties.
• Conferencing with witnesses and preparing witness statements.
• Preparing briefs for counsel and drafting court documents.
• Attending court hearings.
• Providing legal advice and drafting letters of instruction to experts.
• Conducting legal research.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years of post‑admission experience in defendant insurance law.
• Experience in CTP claims is preferred, but experience in workers’ compensation, public liability, property insurance or abuse claims is also considered.
• Strong interest in contributing to the growth of the insurance practice in Adelaide.
• Clear, concise legal writing and strong attention to detail.
