Indirect Procurement Specialist

About the role

Sandvik Mining is seeking an Indirect Procurement Specialist to support its hybrid operations in Brisbane or Perth. You will drive operational excellence across the indirect procurement function, ensuring smooth purchase order processing, supplier onboarding, and commercial negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end supplier onboarding and complete all compliance and governance checks.
• Optimise procurement workflows using Sandvik’s Procure‑to‑Pay platforms, including spend planning and supplier setup.
• Manage and maintain key procurement systems such as Citibank, Ecovadis and Basware.
• Maintain accurate supplier master data, performing cleansing and deactivation activities.
• Support and document supplier contract negotiations within the SRM system.
• Independently negotiate contracts with transactional suppliers to drive value.
• Investigate and resolve supplier account holds and invoice discrepancies.
• Process and finalise purchase orders in line with procurement standards.
• Monitor supplier compliance with Sandvik’s policies and strategic objectives.
• Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders, leading meetings and providing actionable insights.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Supply Chain Operations (Purchasing and Procurement) or a tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain operations, preferably within indirect categories.
• Strong hands‑on expertise across the Procure‑to‑Pay lifecycle, including PO management, supplier onboarding and RFQ analysis.
• Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Commercial acumen, high attention to detail and excellent communication abilities.
