HR Business Partner

About the role

Open Universities Australia is seeking an HR Business Partner, internally known as a People Experience Lead, to shape the employee experience across the organisation. You will work closely with leaders and teams, influencing people decisions and supporting meaningful change in a collaborative, fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to align people strategies with business objectives.
• Coach and support managers on performance, engagement, development, wellbeing and change initiatives.
• Provide balanced, practical advice on employee relations, including performance management, conduct matters and investigations.
• Identify people risks, capability gaps and workforce challenges, and collaborate on solutions.
• Contribute to People & Culture programs, policies and frameworks that enhance the employee experience.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of HR experience, including a dedicated HR Business Partner or business‑partnering role.
• Strong generalist capability across employee relations, coaching and people practices.
• Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation.

Required skills

• Experience with performance management processes.
• Ability to conduct investigations and manage conduct matters.
• Proficiency in developing and delivering leadership coaching.
