Group Finance Manager – Lead Australian Finance Function

About the role

Byrnecut, a leading underground hard‑rock mining contractor, is seeking a Group Finance Manager to head its Australian finance function. Based at the Perth Airport office, you will report directly to the CFO and play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy across a complex multi‑entity structure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of seven finance professionals, including senior management accountants, management accountants and graduates.
• Provide operational finance leadership, influencing business decisions with clear financial insight.
• Translate financial data for non‑finance operational leaders to support strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain robust controls, governance and compliance frameworks across multiple entities.
• Oversee management accounting, tax, treasury, compliance and governance functions.

Required profile

• Proven finance leadership experience, preferably with small‑team management.
• Strong technical finance foundation with ability to own end‑to‑end processes.
• Experience in mining or contracting environments is highly beneficial.
• CA or CPA qualification is mandatory.
