Financial Controller – Lead Finance Team in Growing Australian Business

About the role

You are an experienced Financial Controller looking to play a bigger role in a fast‑growing Australian business. This newly created position sits within a $350m company expanding at 15‑20% annually, leading a finance team of seven and partnering closely with the Head of Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial control, accounting, reporting and compliance across the business.
• Lead the external audit and statutory reporting requirements.
• Oversee Australian tax compliance and regulatory obligations.
• Maintain strong balance sheet, working capital and inventory controls.
• Partner with senior leaders to improve financial performance and decision‑making.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, automation and reporting.
• Support ESG reporting and governance, and contribute to business continuity planning.

Required profile

• CA qualified or CPA with strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Background in a Big 4 audit environment and subsequent industry finance leadership.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Solid understanding of governance, risk, controls and Australian regulatory requirements.
• Hands‑on, curious and humble attitude with a proactive approach to problem solving.
