Datacenter Technician – Perth

About the role

Sharon AI is building the infrastructure that powers next‑generation artificial intelligence. We are looking for a hands‑on Datacenter Technician to join our fast‑growing operations team in Perth and support the day‑to‑day management of critical AI‑focused infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain data‑centre hardware including servers, storage, networking equipment and racks.
• Perform structured cabling works (copper and fibre) to industry standards.
• Support rack‑and‑stack deployments, hardware upgrades, migrations and decommissioning activities.
• Monitor systems, respond to alerts, incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity and infrastructure‑related issues.
• Maintain documentation such as layouts, asset registers and operational procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections of power, cooling, airflow and physical infrastructure.
• Follow change‑management and ITIL‑aligned operational governance processes.
• Collaborate with engineers, vendors and stakeholders to ensure service reliability and uptime.

Required profile

• Proven experience working in live data‑centre or critical infrastructure environments.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of server hardware, structured cabling and networking concepts.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and capacity to work independently.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Customer‑focused mindset with attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of ITIL processes; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, ITIL) are highly regarded.

Required skills

• Server hardware installation and maintenance.
• Structured copper and fibre cabling installation, testing and troubleshooting.
• Switching and routing concepts in enterprise environments.
• Understanding of PDUs, UPS systems and cooling infrastructure.
• ITIL service‑management principles.
• CompTIA Server+, Network+ (or similar) certifications.
• Basic scripting/automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python).
• Familiarity with DCIM tools, monitoring platforms or infrastructure management systems.
