Business Development Manager – Mining & Metals

About the role

Stantec is looking for a highly driven Business Development Manager (Engineering) to lead lead generation and revenue growth across the mining and metals sectors, including iron ore, gold, copper, nickel and related commodities. Based in Perth, you will play a pivotal role in expanding Stantec's market presence and securing new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets across diverse commodities.
• Identify, pursue and cultivate new business leads while expanding the client base.
• Coordinate opportunities, project delivery and innovative solutions aligned with client objectives.
• Research industry trends, competitor activities and client needs to uncover revenue‑generating opportunities.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships through regular engagement, site visits and tailored presentations.
• Collaborate with technical and marketing teams to produce persuasive bids, proposals and presentations.
• Oversee the CRM system, ensuring accurate documentation of leads, opportunities and insights.
• Establish metrics to monitor business development activities and ensure targets are met.
• Partner with operations, marketing and technical teams to align strategies and optimise revenue generation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development within the mining and metals sectors.
• Strong track record of revenue generation and lead generation.
• Ability to build and sustain strategic client relationships.
• Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions.
