Business Development Specialist

About the role

The Business Development Specialist will expand IKEA’s B2B customer base in Perth by identifying, engaging and securing new small‑medium business (SMB) opportunities. You will act as the first point of contact for prospective clients, guiding them through a smooth onboarding experience.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively drive new business acquisition through outbound outreach to SMBs.
• Identify and cultivate sales leads across multiple channels, including trade shows and events.
• Develop and deliver compelling proposals and presentations tailored to customer needs.
• Negotiate contracts and manage finalisation with attention to detail.
• Analyse market trends, customer behaviour and competitor activity to uncover untapped opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure customer‑focused outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the B2B market, especially within SMB segments.
• Proven experience in proactive outbound sales and lead conversion.
• Result‑driven mindset with a track record of exceeding acquisition and sales targets.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Analytical mindset to interpret market data and identify growth opportunities.
