Assistant Manager – Audit (Perth)

About the role

BDO is seeking an Assistant Manager to join its growing Audit team in Perth. You will work on a diverse portfolio of organisations across multiple industries, gaining exposure to complex engagements while developing your leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management and development of the audit team to ensure successful completion of engagements.
• Identify audit and engagement risks and develop appropriate audit approaches.
• Review working papers, audit queries, correspondence and reports for compliance with audit plans and quality standards.
• Lead and participate in technical audit and accounting matters, escalating issues when necessary.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring effective communication throughout the audit process.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• 4+ years of external audit experience within a professional services firm.
• CA/CPA qualification (or working towards).
• Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of financial statement areas and key audit concepts.
• Ability to identify risks and apply appropriate audit procedures.
