Workshop Ancillary Fitter – Dawson Mine

About the role

The Workshop Ancillary Fitter will join the Ancillary Equipment Workshop at Dawson Mine, maintaining a range of workshop support equipment and ensuring high safety and reliability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ancillary workshop plant and equipment, including tractors, pumps, generators, forklifts, telehandlers, compressors and hydraulic systems.
• Perform fault finding, diagnostics, breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance on workshop equipment.
• Inspect, repair and service hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems associated with workshop infrastructure.
• Record maintenance activities and work orders in SAP and contribute to engineering performance targets.
• Support the Workshop Fitter team with maintenance on CAT and Komatsu heavy mobile equipment when required.

Required profile

• Mechanical Trade Qualification (Diesel Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Plant Mechanic or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining ancillary equipment in mining, heavy industry or workshop environments.
• Current Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
• Experience with safety management systems and safe work practices.

Required skills

• Diesel fitting and mechanical repair skills.
• SAP maintenance recording.
• Auto‑electrical knowledge (desirable).
• High‑Risk Work Licences – Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging, HIAB (highly desirable).
• Experience with overhead cranes, compressors, hydraulic systems and workshop infrastructure.
