Workplace Safety Manager

About the role

AP+ is seeking a Workplace Safety Manager to lead and evolve health and safety across its Sydney office. This high‑visibility position partners with senior leaders to embed a proactive safety culture, strengthen risk management, and ensure the workplace meets modern, high‑performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Champion and embed a positive, proactive workplace safety culture across the organisation.
• Provide expert advice to leaders on WHS governance, risk management and compliance obligations.
• Develop and drive WHS frameworks, audits, risk assessments and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes and enhance organisational resilience.
• Partner with business leaders to manage workplace risks and support informed decision‑making.
• Oversee contractor, supplier and vendor governance to ensure alignment with AP+ safety standards.
• Support workplace experience, wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives.
• Monitor emerging risks, industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure best practice.
• Leverage data, reporting and insights to identify trends, inform strategy and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Robust proven experience working in a Workplace Safety role within a professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance requirements and contemporary risk management practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of WHS legislation and compliance frameworks.
• Experience designing and delivering safety audits, risk assessments and emergency preparedness programs.
• Ability to analyse safety data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
