Workforce Capability Manager

About the role

The Workforce Capability Manager will lead and support workforce planning, HR metrics, learning and development, and talent succession activities within the Reef Authority’s People Services team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on capability development and contribute to workforce development strategies.
• Conduct organisation‑wide training needs assessments, design and deliver training programs, and manage the training budget.
• Maintain and improve the Reef Authority’s Learning Management System (LMS) and manage training records and reporting.
• Coordinate entry‑level pathway programs, including the Indigenous Apprenticeship Program, liaising with service providers and supporting participants.

Required profile

• Three or more years of experience in a similar learning and development role, preferably within the APS context.
• Strong collaborative and influencing skills, able to build relationships across all organisational levels.
• Ability to analyse data, manage multiple priorities and provide both operational support and strategic advice.

Required skills

• Experience using Acorn Learning Management System (LMS) or a comparable platform.
