Women's Health Nurse (Regional NSW)

About the role

The Women’s Health Nurse provides individual and population‑based health services across rural and regional NSW, focusing on prevention, early intervention and health promotion for women. This part‑time permanent role involves delivering clinical women’s health services, building community partnerships and supporting women to improve health literacy and long‑term wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Run women’s health clinics offering cervical screening, breast health education, pelvic floor assessments, STI screening, contraceptive and pregnancy support.
• Provide counselling, consultation and case coordination, including referrals to specialised services.
• Plan, implement and evaluate programs that address local women’s health needs.
• Develop and maintain networks with local providers to improve service access across the district.
• Collaborate with colleagues, community partners and stakeholders to deliver culturally safe, equitable care.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Class C driver’s licence for travel across the district.
• Understanding of social determinants of health and the specific needs of women at different life stages, especially those experiencing health inequities.
• Experience working in community‑based and outreach settings.
• Ability to support women with reproductive health options and facilitate clinic delivery.
