Windows Active Directory Engineer (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Windows Active Directory Engineer for a six‑month staff‑augmentation engagement. The engineer will support the client’s Windows Server AD and AD Federation Services environment, handling configuration, documentation, upgrades, and day‑to‑day issues.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Active Directory domain services discovery and document current roles.
• Review and apply Microsoft best practices for domain services and role upgrades.
• Plan and execute Server OS and AD DS upgrades, including potential domain consolidation.
• Support application testing during AD DS and functional level upgrades.
• Assist with migration to consistent monitoring tools and post‑upgrade validation.
• Review and advise on domain‑level administrator roles for corporate and child domains.
• Support planning and deployment of AD DS for services hosted in regional DMZ environments.
• Collaborate with application teams to remediate and re‑platform applications into strategic domains.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience supporting large‑enterprise Active Directory environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft best practices for AD and server upgrades.

Required skills

• Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services administration.
• Windows Server (enterprise environment).
• Microsoft Exchange and Office 365/Exchange Online.
• Office 2010/2016.
• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell).
