Web Designer

About the role

Sparkview Pty Ltd is seeking a creative and technically skilled Web Designer to design, develop and maintain responsive, user-focused websites and digital interfaces. The role covers end-to-end web design, from UX research and information architecture through to front-end development, accessibility compliance and performance optimisation, working closely with stakeholders, developers and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with stakeholders on website objectives, functional requirements and user experience goals
• Analyse user needs and behaviour to develop design strategies
• Design responsive layouts, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity UI mock-ups
• Build front-end solutions in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, and create design systems, component libraries and style guides
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility, mobile-first responsiveness and WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance
• Integrate sites with CMS platforms such as WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify
• Run usability testing, optimise for SEO, site speed and Core Web Vitals, and maintain existing sites
• Document specifications and manage multiple projects to deadline and quality standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Web Design, Digital Media, Information Technology or a related field
• 2-3 years of relevant professional experience as a Web Designer
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, user journey mapping and information architecture
• Experience with CMS platforms and eCommerce integrations

Required skills

• Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD)
• HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
• SEO best practices and website performance optimisation
• WCAG accessibility standards
