Water Monitoring and Compliance Officer

About the role

Aurora Dairies is seeking an experienced Water Monitoring & Compliance Officer to manage water resources across its Tasmanian dairy farms. Reporting to the General Manager – Tasmania, you will work closely with farm managers and operational teams to ensure water licences, allocations and monitoring systems meet regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage water licences, allocations and regulatory compliance across multiple farm sites.
• Oversee water metering, telemetry, soil moisture monitoring and irrigation scheduling systems.
• Analyse water‑use and irrigation performance data to optimise water utilisation.
• Lead stakeholder engagement with water authorities, contractors and service providers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in water resource management, irrigation operations or related agricultural environment.
• Strong project management, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Water licensing and allocation management.
• Water metering, telemetry and soil moisture monitoring technologies.
• Irrigation system knowledge and water‑use efficiency principles.
