Water Management Maintenance Tech

About the role

The Water Management Maintenance Tech supports Fortescue’s Eliwana Mine Infrastructure team by ensuring the water system operates reliably below the water table. Reporting to the Operational Supervisor, you will maintain pipelines, pumps, valves and cable infrastructure across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs on the entire water system, including HDPE pipelines, valves, tanks and control valves.
• Diagnose faults, prioritize breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Remove and install multistage bore pumps, centrifugal pumps, fire pumps and isolation/control valves.
• Refuel generators and pumps and monitor water supply‑demand balance.
• Operate wheel loader (WA430), excavator (PC290) and cable loader (CAT988) for cable and equipment handling.
• Coordinate with the high‑voltage electrical team for switching requirements.
• Interpret and execute cable run designs, install signage, protective arches and road covers.

Required profile

• Background in water services with poly‑welding experience for system building and repair.
• Self‑motivated, able to work both independently and within a small team.
• Strong safety values and ability to read mine plans, manage risk and recognise hazards.
• Experience with Fortescue’s computer systems (BMS, SAP).
• Valid HR driver’s licence and forklift certification; rigging or dogging tickets preferred.
