Waiting List Officer - Endoscopy

About the role

The Planned Surgery Management Team at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne manages patients on the planned surgery and endoscopy waiting list in line with the Department of Health and Human Services Planned Surgery Access Policy. This permanent position is based in Fitzroy, offers multiple permanent hours (1.6 FTE available) and excellent benefits including salary packaging.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms and other parts of the hospital within the time frame set out in the DHHS Elective Surgery Access Policy.
• Create, record and update the Waiting List Screen on the Patient Administration System (PAS) accurately.
• Contact patients and schedule their admission for procedures.
• Schedule appointments such as pre-admission clinic, anaesthetic clinic, perioperative medicine unit (PMU) clinic and any associated investigations requested by the Surgical Liaison Nurse or unit.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in administration in a healthcare role.
• Experience with patient administration systems.
• Desirable: endoscopy clerical experience.
• Current national criminal history check, or willingness to obtain one.
• Willingness to meet mandatory vaccination requirements, including a possible COVID-19 vaccination direction.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
