Volvo & Scania Truck & Hydraulics Mechanic (FIFO Perth)

About the role

An experienced Volvo or Scania truck and hydraulics mechanic is sought for a full-time, ongoing FIFO position based in Perth, WA, working on a modern fleet of European Euro 6 trucks in the Pilbara. The roster is 2 weeks on, 1 week off, with a start date within 2 weeks. Pay is $12,600 per 2-week swing, and there is a pathway to visa sponsorship for eligible international candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose and repair Volvo and Scania Euro 6 trucks
• Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and related components
• Perform scheduled servicing and emergency repairs
• Record maintenance work accurately and in line with compliance standards
• Follow strict site safety and operational procedures

Required profile

• Proven experience with European trucks (Volvo or Scania preferred)
• Solid knowledge of Euro 6 engines, diagnostics and repair methods
• Hands-on understanding of hydraulic systems
• Proactive, safety-first mindset and ability to work independently and in a FIFO team
• Adaptability, clear communication and attention to detail
• Eligible applicants: Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, or international citizens eligible for an Australian Working Holiday Visa (Working Holiday Visa holders may transition to a 482 (SID) sponsored visa)
