Visiting Medical Officer - Ophthalmology (Oculoplastics)

About the role

Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Visiting Medical Officer in Ophthalmology (Oculoplastics) to join the team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The role provides high-quality clinical and surgical specialty services within the Oculoplastics sub-specialty and contributes to academic activities such as research, teaching and administration. It is a temporary position from January 2027 up to January 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical and surgical specialty services in Oculoplastics within the Ophthalmology Department
• Contribute to and take part in academic activities including research, teaching and administration
• Maintain a high standard of professional performance and encourage an academic environment supporting education, research and professional development

Required profile

• Current registered medical practitioner registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA
• Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO)
• Recognised qualifications in Ophthalmology and fellowship training in Oculoplastics
• Applicants expected to receive their Fellowship within two months of the start date may also be considered
