Visa, Relocation and Global Mobility Specialist

About the role

The Visa, Relocation and Global Mobility Specialist provides expert immigration and mobility advice to hiring managers, faculty leaders and candidates. You will manage end‑to‑end visa processes for international academics and researchers and coordinate relocation support for new staff and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Advise managers and senior leaders on visa regulations, compliance and reporting, covering subclasses such as 407, 408, 482 and 186.
• Manage the full visa lifecycle for researchers, post‑doctoral fellows and visiting academics, including employer nomination and government correspondence.
• Maintain sponsorship records, monitor visa expiries, and ensure readiness for immigration audits.
• Coordinate international and domestic relocation benefits, housing resources and onboarding logistics.
• Deliver information sessions and training on immigration changes and compliance.

Required profile

• Qualifications in HR, business, law or related field; OMARA registration desirable.
• Proven experience in immigration consulting, corporate mobility or global relocation, preferably in a university or regulated public sector.
• Deep knowledge of Australian immigration legislation and employer‑sponsored visa processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with government agencies, external counsel and senior university leaders.

Required skills

• Expertise in Australian visa subclasses (407, 408, 482, 186) and academic exemptions.
• Case‑management ability with meticulous record‑keeping and compliance monitoring.
