Vice President, Threat Management & Application Response

About the role

The Global Information Security team at Bank of America is seeking a senior leader to drive application layer threat management, detection and response across a worldwide footprint. Based in Sydney, you will work in a follow‑the‑sun model with teams in Australia, Singapore, the UK and the US, protecting the bank’s information systems and customer data.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze application‑layer alerts, investigate incidents and disrupt malicious activity.
• Develop custom alerts, dashboards and OSI‑layer 7 monitoring controls.
• Mentor junior team members and lead threat‑vector assessments.
• Partner with senior business leaders to triage events and report impact.
• Implement processes to satisfy audit, compliance and risk requirements.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with application security detection and response technologies.
• Advanced log analysis using Splunk or comparable SIEM platforms.
• Experience maintaining WAF signatures (e.g., F5 ASM, Akamai).
• Proficiency in scripting, regular expressions and packet analysis (Wireshark).
• Relevant certifications such as SANS or CISSP are desirable.
