About the role
Kyah is seeking a commercially‑minded Venue Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations of its unique property in Blackheath, Blue Mountains. This is a hands‑on, floor‑led leadership position focused on delivering an exceptional guest experience while driving business growth.
Key responsibilities
- Lead service directly on the floor, especially in the 150‑seat restaurant and bar, Blaq.
- Oversee all operational areas including accommodation, food & beverage, and events.
- Maintain consistent, high‑quality guest experiences across the property.
- Coach, develop, and align the existing kitchen and housekeeping teams.
- Drive revenue performance for rooms, F&B, and events, focusing on spend per guest and off‑peak growth.
- Manage labour, rostering, and cost control discipline.
- Build and nurture local community relationships in Blackheath and the wider Blue Mountains.
- Collaborate closely with ownership on performance metrics and strategic direction.
Required profile
- Hands‑on, visible leadership style; energized by being on the floor.
- Commercially aware and performance‑driven, with a focus on growth and revenue quality.
- Strong people leader capable of developing culture and accountability without a corporate framework.
- Confident communicator comfortable interacting with ownership.
- Creative and entrepreneurial mindset, able to generate ideas and initiatives.
- Ability to elevate the offering while preserving Kyah’s relaxed, authentic identity.
