Ventilation Engineer – Underground Mining

About the role

We are seeking a Ventilation Engineer to join the Underground Mining Team at the Granny Smith Gold Mine. Reporting to the Mine Ventilation Superintendent, you will optimise ventilation demand and supply to support safe and efficient gold extraction in a FIFO environment based out of Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ventilation plans across the life‑of‑mine, quarterly, weekly and monthly horizons, ensuring alignment with production targets and safety standards.
• Coordinate ventilation requirements with mining crews, contractors and graduates, issuing clear instructions and managing constraints.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, contribute to ventilation‑related capital projects and monitor system performance.
• Maintain statutory records, fulfil WA ventilation officer duties and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.

Required profile

• Recognised Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications meeting Schedule 26 of the WA Work Health and Safety Regulations 2022.
• Valid manual driver’s licence.
• Completion of required WHS risk‑management units and legislation examination.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using mining software such as Deswik CAD.
• Familiarity with Ventsim Design is highly regarded.
