Vehicle Mechanic – Defence

About the role

Ventia is seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join its Defence Maintenance Contract team at Enoggera, Brisbane. You will keep a wide range of military vehicles operational, from 4WD trucks to armoured tanks, ensuring they are safe and ready for deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, technical inspections and classification of heavy military vehicles.
• Repair or replace worn or faulty components, including engines, transmissions and differentials.
• Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts.
• Carry out minor body and trim repairs.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
• Inspect vehicles and issue road‑worthiness certificates.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining light, medium and heavy vehicles.
• Current Australian State or Territory Class C driver’s licence.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain a Defence Security Clearance.
