Utility Service Technician – Utility‑Scale Battery Sites

About the role
Tesla is looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to maintain and service utility‑scale battery sites, primarily the Megapack product, in the Elaine region. You will join a close‑knit on‑site team responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading medium to high voltage equipment across Powerpack and Megapack sites.
Key responsibilities
- Perform complex electro‑mechanical debugging, rework, and repairs on medium and high voltage equipment.
- Service, troubleshoot, and upgrade battery storage sites to ensure optimal performance.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and LV/MV/HV testing equipment for diagnosis.
- Prepare daily updates on work completed, issues identified, and future timelines.
- Support other regional sites and occasional international locations as needed.
Required profile
- Certified Electrician (Cert III+ in Electrical/Electro‑Technology) with up‑to‑date registration/license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 3 years in electrical maintenance within the utility sector.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work outdoors and on‑road at irregular hours.
- Ability to follow complex documentation, verbal and written instructions.
Required skills
- HV switching experience.
- SCADA operating experience.
- Use of LV/MV/HV testing equipment.
- Electro‑mechanical debugging and repair.
- Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency with proprietary and third‑party OEM software.
