Utility Service Locator – Perth (Visa Sponsorship)

About the role

A Perth-based utility location company, with more than 30 years of experience in protecting people and infrastructure, is hiring a Utility Service Locator. The role suits candidates who want steady work, good pay and the chance to relocate to Perth, with visa sponsorship (SID Visa) and relocation support available for eligible overseas candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and assess risks and apply the correct controls, leading with safety
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors and project managers
• Use ELM, GPR and similar equipment to locate underground services
• Solve on-site challenges and produce accurate maps
• Carry out final risk assessments to ensure strikeless delivery
• Attend monthly HSE toolbox meetings and training sessions

Required profile

• DBYD Locator certification, or willingness to complete it after arriving in Perth
• At least two years' experience in a similar locating role
• Valid driver's licence with a clean record
• Construction White Card
• First Aid and CPR certifications preferred

Required skills

• ELM and GPR equipment use
• Useful but not essential: Western Power induction, ATCO approved locator status, GPR training, APA permit issue officer training, confined spaces and gas atmosphere certification

What we offer

• $42-$50 per hour plus 12% superannuation and overtime at 1.5x, 2.5x and 3x rates
• Annual income of about $250,000-$300,000, with quarterly and annual bonuses
• Visa sponsorship (SID Visa) for eligible overseas candidates
