Underground Mine Geologist

About the role

Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) operates its 100% owned high-grade Bellevue gold mine in Western Australia, with underground mining since late 2020 and exploration ongoing to expand the resource. The mine is located about 30 km north of Leinster township in a major gold, lithium and nickel producing district. This is a permanent full-time position based in Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor underground geology procedures such as face mapping, sampling, wall mapping, ore drive directions and logging
• Run the digital underground face and wall mapping program
• Provide ore drive directions to optimise orebody position for stoping
• Liaise with engineers and other stakeholders on geological activities
• Establish mine geology systems for production
• Supervise and train junior geologists on underground activities
• Assist in underground and open pit production tracking and ore delineation
• Ensure quality logging, sampling and QAQC across resource definition and grade control drilling programs
• Report weekly on underground geology activities and carry out project work assigned by the Senior Geologist
• Help the Senior Geologist wireframe and update key geological structures, and ensure all work follows H&S policies

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Geology
• At least 1 year of experience as a mine geologist in an underground production role
• Sound knowledge of mapping, structural geology, drilling and sampling techniques
• Understanding of general mining operations; gold experience highly desirable
• Understanding of occupational health and safety requirements
• Ability to work autonomously with good time management, and technical writing and reporting skills
• Demonstrated leadership, including training and retention of technical and field staff and consultants
