Underground Development Operator

About the role

Grosvenor Mine, an underground steelmaking coal mine in Moranbah, Queensland, is recruiting multiple Underground Operators within Development. Reporting to the Development Coordinator, the role's purpose is to complete all tasks safely and efficiently, supporting the mine's goal of zero harm while maximising production and minimising costs. The mine is planning a return to longwall production by Q4 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a variety of underground mining equipment
• Maintain a safe and productive mining environment
• Support roadway development, installation and mining activities
• Complete equipment inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns
• Follow site procedures, production plans and statutory requirements
• Work proactively with on-shift peers to meet agreed safety and productivity standards
• Apply Anglo American standards, including the mine Safety & Health Management System and the Anglo Golden Rules

Required profile

• Extensive experience in the underground coal mining industry, with understanding of the coal mining process and relevant mining legislation
• Previous underground coal development experience
• Current Coal Board medical and Standard 11
• Demonstrated experience contributing to a team to deliver set targets
• Professional work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement

Required skills

• Operating equipment such as continuous miners, shuttle cars, bolters, LHDs or development support equipment
