Truck Drivers (General) - Malaga, WA

About the role

Fording Bridge Nominees Pty Ltd is seeking two experienced and reliable general truck drivers to join its team in Malaga, Western Australia. The successful applicants operate heavy vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently, in line with road transport regulations, workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and manoeuvre heavy trucks to deliver goods to designated locations
• Position vehicles for loading and unloading, and load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including lifting or tipping devices
• Inspect vehicles before and after trips for roadworthiness and safety
• Monitor load weights, weight distribution and vehicle capacity to meet legal limits
• Secure and cover goods properly so they do not move, get lost or get damaged
• Verify delivery documentation, inspect goods and obtain proof of delivery or customer acknowledgements
• Follow delivery schedules, routes and instructions, and keep accurate inspection, delivery and transport records
• Comply with road transport legislation, fatigue management and workplace health and safety requirements, and report faults, maintenance needs and incidents to management

Required profile

• AQF Certificate II or III in a relevant field, or at least one year of relevant truck driving experience instead
• Valid heavy vehicle driver's licence for the vehicles operated, or eligibility to obtain the Western Australian licence before starting
• Demonstrated experience operating heavy vehicles and transporting goods safely
• Sound knowledge of Australian road safety, load restraint and fatigue management obligations
• Ability to carry out routine vehicle safety checks, keep accurate records and work independently
• Physical ability to handle loading and unloading where applicable

What we offer

• Annual base salary of $80,000 plus superannuation
• Two full-time positions, 38-hour week, based in Malaga, WA
• Conditions under applicable Australian workplace legislation and the relevant award or enterprise agreement
