Triage Nurse (Remote)

About the role

Amplar Health, part of the Medibank Group, is growing its Nurse Triage team in its Virtual Health function. As a Triage Nurse you provide clinical advice and support to individuals across Australia, assessing their needs, giving health information and referring them to appropriate providers, all from home. The role is available to anyone in Australia, including regional and rural areas.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical advice and support to people across Australia
• Assess patient needs, give health information and refer to suitable providers
• Work on a fixed two-week rotating roster with 60% of shifts after hours, covering 7:00 AM to 3:00 AM, Monday to Sunday including public holidays, with at least one Friday shift each fortnight
• Complete a full-time paid virtual training course (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm AEST, seven days) starting on the first day of employment

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (Division 1) with at least 3 years of full-time clinical experience, including the last 5 years (5100 hours total)
• Current AHPRA registration with no notations
• Experience in A&E and Triage, and in Paediatrics, Community Care or Acute Medical/Surgical; aged care experience is not sufficient
• Strong assessment skills, ability to work autonomously and availability for weekend and night shifts
• Desirable: virtual communication experience, call centre or customer service experience, corporate or multidisciplinary team experience, commitment to professional development

Required skills

• Comfortable using digital systems and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Private home office with a closable door and reliable internet (minimum 50 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload)
• Full technology suite provided (computer, monitors, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet cable)

What we offer

• Fixed-term contract from 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week until 30 June 2027, with potential for extension
• Work from home with a full technology suite provided
• Combined hours across all employers capped at 40 hours per week
