Trend Engineer

About the role

The Trend Engineer will lead cost estimating, analysis and control activities for complex mining and metals projects. Working from Bechtel’s Perth office, you will develop cost studies, monitor cost trends and deliver innovative solutions to cost‑engineering challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Perform non‑routine cost estimating, analysis and control for large‑scale projects.
• Coordinate implementation of cost monitoring standards, techniques, systems and reporting.
• Develop accurate cost reports and ensure consistency with previous data.
• Prepare budgets according to prescribed standards and procedures.
• Collect, classify and analyse cost data, identifying trends for management attention.
• Conduct cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis and quantity comparisons.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in engineering, construction management or related field.
• 8‑10 years (or 12‑14 years) of relevant cost engineering experience in mining, metals or large construction projects.
• Proven ability to deliver detailed cost analyses and innovative cost‑control solutions.
