Transport Supervisor

About the role

As a Transport Supervisor you will play a key role in keeping Elgas Limited’s transport operations across South Australia safe, efficient and on schedule. Working closely with the SA Distribution Manager and the wider operations team, you will support drivers, contractors and fleet activities while driving continuous improvement in safety, service and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily delivery schedules to meet customer commitments and compliance requirements.
• Monitor and coach driver and contractor performance, ensuring safety and regulatory standards are upheld.
• Assist with transport cost management, including spend analysis and labour utilisation.
• Support onboarding and training of new drivers and contractors.
• Investigate and resolve customer delivery queries and complaints.
• Lead safety initiatives, conduct audits and analyse performance data such as DriveCam insights.
• Collaborate with scheduling and operations teams to optimise fleet efficiency.

Required profile

• At least 3 + years of experience supervising or supporting a frontline transport, logistics or fleet team.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance in a high‑risk environment.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with drivers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise competing operational demands.
