About the role
Paradise First Aid (RTO 32268), part of The First Aid Group on the Gold Coast, is looking for a Training Operations Manager to take full accountability for its Registered Training Organisation. The role sits on a leadership team of three business-unit managers reporting to the Head of Operations, and the training business is yours to run. It is a permanent full-time position based at the Coomera training centre.
Key responsibilities
- Own the training business budget, revenue and margin targets, the annual delivery plan and the public and onsite course calendar
- Lead the casual Trainer/Assessor team, including recruitment, allocation, performance and culture
- Act as operational compliance lead: compliance calendar, internal audits, AVETMISS and USI reporting, and audit preparation with ASQA
- Oversee the student lifecycle from enquiry to certificate, quoting, invoicing and receivables, and the client relationships behind them
- Manage the training centre, its equipment, consumables, WHS and presentation
- Shape the training operations technology roadmap, including aXcelerate, automation and AI-assisted tools
- Produce weekly operational and quarterly management reports to the Head of Operations
Required profile
- Three or more years in an RTO or training organisation, including at least two in a management or leadership role with accountability for operational and financial performance
- Experience managing a budget or P&L, setting revenue and margin targets, and managing pricing, quoting and receivables
- Experience leading a casual or contingent workforce, including recruitment, rostering and performance management
- Track record of implementing and improving business systems, and practical experience managing equipment or a facility with a sound understanding of WHS
- Current open driver's licence and willingness to travel to onsite venues across South East Queensland
Required skills
- Strong working knowledge of the Standards for RTOs, ASQA requirements, USI, AVETMISS, certificate issuance and student records, and experience leading compliance activity and audits
- Hands-on experience with a student management system (aXcelerate strongly preferred)
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and communication skills with clients, trainers and difficult conversations
What we offer
- $100,000 per annum plus superannuation, paid as an annualised salary
- Genuine autonomy and delegated authority within agreed limits
- Six-month probationary period; appointment subject to a National Police Check, Queensland Blue Card (or evidence of application), right to work in Australia and occasional early starts, evenings or weekends
Applications close 13 November and are made through LinkedIn or SEEK with a CV and a short cover letter about the RTO you have helped run and what you would do differently if it were yours.
