Trade Assistant / Yard Person - Brisbane

About the role

Komatsu Forklift Australia promotes, sells, hires and services Komatsu forklifts, and is looking for a hands-on Trade Assistant to join its Brisbane Service team. The role supports technicians with forklift servicing and repairs, equipment cleaning and preparation, and general workshop and yard duties, helping keep the workshop and yard safe, clean and organised.

Key responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with supervised repairs and servicing of forklift trucks, plant and other equipment
• Help technicians with general workshop duties and equipment preparation
• Move, position and prepare forklifts and other equipment
• Clean and prepare equipment before and after servicing or repairs
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment, parts and materials, and with deliveries and pickups
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas, and perform general cleaning and housekeeping
• Assist with waste disposal, including scrap metal and used parts
• Prepare machines for customer delivery, demonstration, rental or return
• Report equipment damage, faults and safety concerns to the supervisor
• Operate warehouse equipment and tools safely, complete weekly service vehicle inspection checklists and attend training and service meetings

Required profile

• Previous Trade Assistant experience preferred
• Current driver's licence
• Forklift licence desirable
• Ability to work safely and follow HSE procedures
• Basic literacy and numeracy
• Team player who can follow instructions and works well under supervision
