Terminal Operator – Fuel Handling

About the role

Viva Energy is seeking a full‑time Terminal Operator for its Devonport fuel terminal. The role involves safe handling, storage and quality management of fuel products, supporting the terminal’s daily operations and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Apply operational procedures safely and efficiently while handling fuel products.
• Conduct monitoring, sampling and testing of fuel and fuelling equipment.
• Manage work clearances, gas testing, permitting and isolations to ensure safe plant access.
• Perform surveillance, inspections and support preventative and reactive work orders using the JDE maintenance management system.
• Carry out basic maintenance, housekeeping and support maintenance or project work as directed by the Site Coordinator.
• Participate in HSSE activities, safety meetings, hazard identification and emergency response planning.

Required profile

• Commitment to health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) principles.
• Dependable, detail‑oriented and able to work collaboratively in a team.
• Curiosity about operations or technology with a proven track record of taking ownership.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends or public holidays when shipments arrive.

Required skills

• Experience using the JDE maintenance management system.
