Terminal Operator – Adelaide Freight Terminal

About the role

Join Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight operator, as a Terminal Operator at the Adelaide Freight Terminal in Regency Park. You will work in a hands‑on operational environment, supporting the safe and efficient movement of freight across the rail network.

Key responsibilities

• Support container loading and unloading using a reach stacker.
• Safely perform shunting duties within the terminal.
• Marshal locomotives and rail wagons in preparation for departure.
• Provide safety‑critical communications to incoming and outgoing rail services.
• Contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of freight movements.
• Work a 24/7 forward‑rotating roster, averaging 38 hours per week.

Required profile

• Adaptable team player who thinks ahead and values safety.
• Current C‑class driver’s licence.
• General computer proficiency.
• Strong communication skills.
• Previous experience in heavy industry, logistics or transport is advantageous.
• A mechanical, processing or trade qualification is desired.
