Temporary Diploma of Obstetrics Resident (6‑month rotation)

About the role

The Diploma of Obstetrics Resident will join Barwon Health’s multidisciplinary Obstetrics & Gynaecology team for a six‑month, full‑time rotation. Working under senior medical supervision, the resident provides safe and effective care to obstetric and gynaecological patients across all settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver supervised clinical management of obstetric and gynaecological patients in outpatient, inpatient, elective and acute environments.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, examinations, differential diagnosis formulation, investigations, treatment initiation and ongoing review.
• Participate in after‑hours, on‑call and recall rosters as required by the service.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality patient care, accurate documentation, medication reconciliation and appropriate escalation to senior clinicians.

Required profile

• Medical qualification with eligibility for appointment as a Hospital Medical Officer.
• Demonstrated interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
