Technology Technician - AssayTrack Systems

About the role

Orica is seeking an experienced Technology Technician to support the deployment, operation and maintenance of AssayTrack systems across surface exploration, resource definition and surface mining operations in Australia. The role sits within Hopper Industrial Group (HIG), a subsidiary of Orica, and starts in the Perth (Welshpool) office and workshop, supporting equipment preparation, logistics, operational planning and product readiness. The successful candidate must be willing and able to move to site-based rostered field work as operations demand.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, test and maintain AssayTrack equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Mobilise, operate and support AssayTrack systems at surface mining sites across Australia.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to maximise equipment reliability.
• Lead field activities, coordinate with site stakeholders and ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Conduct quality assurance checks, maintain accurate records and meet compliance requirements.
• Provide technical support, customer training and mentoring while promoting safety and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Current MR or HR driver's licence, or ability to obtain it within an agreed timeframe.
• Demonstrated mine site operational experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required site inductions and access requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required radiation-related licences and authorisations.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Willingness to undertake training in AssayTrack deployment and operation.

Required skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Leadership capability and practical mining experience.
