Technical Trainer – Automotive

About the role

The Technical Trainer will design, develop and deliver learning experiences for frontline NRMA employees and managers, focusing on roadside delivery and automotive services. The role is based in Sydney Olympic Park with travel to NRMA sites nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deliver training programmes using blended learning approaches, including e‑learning, virtual sessions, self‑directed modules and in‑person workshops.
• Conduct needs analyses, identify skill gaps and collaborate with stakeholders to align learning initiatives with business objectives.
• Develop learning materials across multiple platforms and ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery both online and face‑to‑face.
• Travel nationally, including regional and remote locations, to provide consistent training while also working in a hybrid mode when not on the road.

Required profile

• Qualified mechanic or automotive electrician with current Class C driver’s licence.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (highly desirable).
• Demonstrated experience in a similar automotive training role and strong instructional design capability.
• Ability to build stakeholder relationships and take ownership of training portfolios.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Articulate, Canva, Ed‑App and Vyond for content creation.
• Strong facilitation skills for both online and face‑to‑face delivery.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of current and emerging automotive technology trends.
