Technical Support Assistant

About the role

Adelaide University is hiring a Technical Support Assistant based in the College of Science, reporting to the Manager, Technical Services, Biological Sciences. The role is part of the Specialist Facilities and Technical Services team and supports high-quality research and teaching by preparing laboratory media and solutions, maintaining equipment and facilities and ensuring safe, efficient laboratory operations. It is a full-time continuing position starting 15 February 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain equipment and facilities
• Ensure safe, efficient and compliant laboratory operations
• Support researchers, academics and students in their work

Required profile

• Certificate IV level qualification (or equivalent) in Laboratory Operations, Life Sciences or a related discipline, with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training
• Experience preparing, dispensing and sterilising media and laboratory solutions
• Experience with aseptic techniques, autoclaving and sterilisation services
• Understanding of laboratory-based research environments and the needs of active research groups
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a strong customer service focus
• Experience using computer systems and keeping accurate records, inventory and transaction data

What we offer

• Salary range of $71,093 - $80,010 plus 17% superannuation
• Full-time continuing opportunity
