Technical Security Advisor

About the role

Seqwater delivers water to more than three million people across South East Queensland and is creating new roles as part of its operating model transformation. As Technical Security Advisor, you will protect the critical infrastructure supporting essential water services, lead security and resilience initiatives, advise on complex risks, strengthen emergency preparedness and work with stakeholders to safeguard people, assets and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen security capability through risk, resilience and investigation services
• Deliver effective protective security processes
• Provide expert security advice and guidance
• Lead security and resilience initiatives and strengthen emergency preparedness
• Work with stakeholders across the business to safeguard people, assets and operations

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Emergency Management, Security and Risk Management, Government Investigation or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience
• Queensland Individual Class 2 Security Licence
• Experience providing technical security advice in a critical infrastructure environment
• Ability to independently conduct security risk assessments and incident investigations
• Experience supporting emergency management, resilience or risk management in a complex operational environment
• Experience influencing stakeholders and giving specialist technical advice across business areas and external agencies
• Willingness to participate in on-call emergency management rosters

Required skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills
• Ability to give practical recommendations on complex security issues
