About the role
AECOM is seeking a Technical Director level Electrical Engineer to lead its national building engineering team in Adelaide. This senior position offers the chance to manage a large multidisciplinary team and contribute to landmark projects across Australia and New Zealand.
Key responsibilities
- Lead delivery of complex, multi‑disciplinary building projects in sectors such as health, education, defence, transport, commercial, aviation, sports and data centres.
- Provide technical leadership and governance for electrical building services design, ensuring compliance with Australian codes, standards and best‑practice engineering principles.
- Review design calculations, specifications, models and documentation to drive innovation, quality and coordinated outcomes.
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships, support business development and secure a pipeline of high‑profile projects.
- Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary services engineering team, fostering technical excellence and a high‑performance culture.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with ideally 20+ years of consultancy experience delivering complex building services projects.
- Chartership with Engineers Australia (CPEng) or equivalent registration; eligible for state professional registration (RPEQ/RPEV).
- Extensive technical expertise in electrical building services design and deep knowledge of Australian codes, standards and regulations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging clients, contractors, consultants and senior project teams.
- Proven project and commercial management experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams on high‑profile, technically challenging projects.
