Team Member - Afternoon Shift (Steel Manufacturing)

About the role

BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, is recruiting Team Members for its production team in Novar Gardens. The role is on the afternoon shift only, from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, and is open to people with no previous operations or manufacturing experience, as comprehensive on-the-job training and support are provided. Preference will be given to suitably qualified female applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Support and promote a safe working environment
• Operate machinery to process and manufacture products
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and cranes
• Pack, strap and check products for quality

The work involves manual handling and lifting, and takes place in a manufacturing environment with noise and seasonal temperature changes. Training, support and equipment are provided to work safely.

Required profile

• No previous operations or manufacturing experience required
• Enthusiasm to learn and contribute as part of a team
• Willingness to obtain a forklift licence with support
• Positive, can-do attitude and adaptability to shift work
• Respect for others and a diverse, inclusive workforce

What we offer

• Full-time, permanent role with a weekly base rate starting from $1,061.72, progressing to $1,124.80 depending on skills and experience
